The Rocking M Ranch (RMR) is located a short 10 minutes from the City of Smithville and 15 minutes from the City of Bastrop in the heart of Central Texas. The area is referred to as the "megalopolis" because it is centrally located an hour from Austin and less than two hours from Houston and San Antonio.

Smithville was named the first Film Friendly Community in Texas by the
Texas Film Commission and is home to the movie 'Hope Floats' filmed 10 years ago and starring Sandra Bullock. Numerous other films, including “Tree of Life” starring Brad Pitt, and “Beneath the Darkness” starring Dennis Quaid were shot in and around the area.  A few celebrities have also hung their hats at the RMR while filming in the area.

There is much to do (or not) including
fabulous antique shopping in Warrenton and Round Top just 30 minutes away, and there's always something exciting going on in nearby Austin.  If getting away from the big city and traffic is what you're after, kick back, relax, and enjoy the quiet of the country at the RMR.

Whether it's planning the perfect rustic wedding, corporate event, family gathering, or just a relaxing weekend away, RMR is your destination. We are... 'Real Country, Real Close.'
