Warrior Dream Project

Mission Statement: The Warrior Dream Project is committed to our Veterans who loyally served our country; specifically those who suffer from physical disabilities or PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Our goal is to build affordable homes across Virginia for Veterans and their families. It is our duty to honor the men and women who have served our country and give back to them what they have given to us.

We are a nonprofit organization seeking to build homes across Virginia for our wounded warriors that have served our country. The homes will be 1,700 square foot single level homes, consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a single car garage. The benefits of having free labor and special material costs will allow us to offer these homes for $100,000-$110,000; this will enable a family who presently rents for $600-$700 per month to purchase and own a home.

We are currently looking at two locations to build homes. One is in Southwest Virginia where we will be partnering with Steve Wingfield. This build will coincide with the NASCAR Bristol Race to be held in April or August. Steve Wingfield has a NASCAR Ministry that brings a message of faith and hope to the NASCAR community. He also recognizes all veterans at his events and ministers to them. We hope that this opportunity will help open doors to the NASCAR community to partner with us on this project. Our primary focus will be veterans who suffer from PTSD (See Victoryweekend.com).

Locally, we have found a family in Rockingham County, David Young is a 14 year Army Veteran who suffers from PTSD. WE are currently working with this family to secure financing and begin construction (See Youtube- the Coalition to Salute American Heroes, David Young).  One of our fundraising efforts for this project is the sales of our Warrior Dream Project Tee-shirts. We would greatly appreciate the Ruritan Clubs to consider partnering with us in purchasing 12 of our shirts. We feel that a strong showing of support in our home district will enhance our chances of getting the support of other Ruritan districts in neighboring areas. We want this and all of our future projects to enrich the lives of our Veterans and their families. We also want to create a public awareness of the sacrifice that has been made by these warriors and their families.
