My medium and canvas for painting is clay and I work with Terracotta. I am drawn to the deep red of the fired clay and  I incorporate the clay body’s true color into the designs of many finished pieces.
I like to have a sketch or an idea before making a body of work but while working with the clay and glaze I allow the pieces to create themselves too. I look at my sets of dinnerware as a single composition, each piece unique and complimenting to the others.

What I love most about working in clay is that it connects me to people in all cultures around the world who have been making pots since the beginning of serving and preparing food.
