Runner

words and music by Rob Grossi

I'm not quite good enough for
the things I think You need
And I'm fairly sure I never will be

Though I've sang a hundred times
"here I am, send me"
Deep inside my heart I'm always running

Easier to run
uncomfortable to follow
better to pretend I never heard the call
I'm a runner

Now I hear You're not concerned with
the things that I can do
And You're call goes out to those who'll hear it

Though I've wandered far from You
You're still by my side
and You call and wait for me to answer

but it's easier to run
uncomfortable to follow
no longer can deny I ever heard the call

Oh, and I'll run
Not from You
but for You

Musings of Fools
words and music by Rob Grossi

We trust the musings of fools
Uneducated and yet still so profound
His word cuts to the heart
through His unlikely heroes

Rejoice, though we still have not
for in believing we will come to receive
In seeking to be poor
we may be showered with riches

We pray with prophets and angels
and all of those who have journeyed long before
though they live not down here
they're more alive than we are

Strangers though we were born here
and aliens in a land that's not our own
for we have all been bought
by the Blood of our Master

In All

words and music by Rob Grossi

When the rain is falling
you can find me waiting outside
while everyone is running home

And when that fire's burning
I watch it burning up
while everyone just moves along

While the man is singing
I listen to the things he say
but they all drowning out the sound

And while these poor are bleeding
we just walk away
We don't even turn around

In all of these You're reaching out
In all of these You're crying out

All those bound, imprisoned
all those sick and feeling alone
Aint got no clothes, aint got no home

And all the least among us
those who need a friend
those who can't face it on their own

In all of these You're reaching out
through of these You're crying out

Consumer

words and music by Rob Grossi

Flashing lights and polished people
tell us what we need
Grab as much as you are able
while our brothers bleed

One by one we start a fire
Two by two we burn
feeding into our desires
Will we ever learn?

Run along now, good consumer
consume more than yesterday

Run along now, good consumer
You'll find happiness this way

Growing debts and binding contracts
taking all our time
offering your service for that
which cannot serve in kind

We are made to serve a purpose
Not to serve ourselves
Those who live their lives in service
want for nothing else

Run along now, good consumer
consume more than yesterday

Run along now, good consumer
You'll find happiness this way

Their Own

words and music by Rob Grossi

Everybody makes their own truth
that they can change to serve them well
Everybody's got their own life
and they live it for themselves

And when they learn about the real truth
clearly written on the wall
It's like a stone that makes them stumble
or a rock that makes them fall

Everybody's got their own god
who never seems to disapprove
And everybody makes their own rules
so that they never lose

Everybody writes their own book
in which to pass their wisdom on
and everybody turns a deaf ear
to those who always prove them wrong

The Others
words and music by Rob Grossi

We were always here
from before the earth received its form
and we despise you

You hold all the things
we could never hope to gain
And we hate you for it

We were once so good
and so beautiful to behold
but then He made you

You are just a thing
and an animal in our eyes
And we hate you for it

Now our fate is sealed
but we don't intend to go alone
and we will get you

This world is our domain
and we've shaped it for our entertainment
We know you love it

But some of you cling
to what's good and what's true
 and what's holy
you remind us so much of Him
and we hate you for it

Direction

words and music by Rob Grossi

Some days I feel I'm running
to a new place, in the right direction

And others; as if I'm stranded
Backed in a corner by my own reflection

At times I feel I'm tossed upon the water
for forty days

With no clear sign of finding land or shelter
another forty days

And when I've found some comfort
in some old thing
in my routine

It's then I hear You calling
and then I fear the change You bring

sometimes I feel we're walking on the water
in a raging storm

Would You reach down to take my hand and save me
from the raging storm?

And, oh, those storms will come
Can you feel it?

And though damage is done
I know You pull us through
and mend the pieces

Rise
words and music by Rob Grossi

Rise.  We rise
an army poised for war
(against the prince and powers of the air)

Fight.  We fight
with weapons immaterial
(the battle, it is raging even now)

Se we must fight

Heal.  Please heal
Your Church from many wounds
(though enemies abound none can prevail)

So we must fight
