The coming of age tale, starring The Full Monty’s Robert Carlyle, was filmed in and around Bridgend and Port Talbot in late 2007 and has been hotly anticipated by fans of the 35-year-old Welsh director’s debut, the critically-acclaimed Human Traffic.

In it the father-son relationship is seen through the eyes of 11-year-old Jamie, played by Ely schoolboy Aaron Fuller, who begins to suspect his dad is really an undercover spy.

“It’s a story I’ve been burning to tell all my adult life,” said Kerrigan whose own dad passed away shortly after he made Human Traffic in 1999.

“It explores the special relationship I shared with my late father and something that actually happened to us in the 80s,” he added.

And Kerrigan said he was blown away by Carlyle’s commitment to the role.

“It was crazy to watch Robert transform in to my dad, he’s a real chameleon.”, 20 August 2009
