WHO WILL BE YOUR CHILD'S KINDERGARTEN TEACHER?
This exciting news typically will be announced to you mid-August! It will be released to you through your Parent Portal.


         PLAYGROUND DAY 
RTK families gather at the playground for a less structured and relaxed opportunity to meet new friends. Children must be accompanied by parent/guardian at all times.

Time: 10am-11am OR 5p-6p
Location: Bridgewater Girls Softball Field
Who’s Invited: The whole family
Can Siblings come? Yes!
What Should I Bring? Sunscreen, chairs, bug spray, water bottles, (optional cash for snack shack)


 
  MUSIC Day: Mrs. Bram
Incoming Kindergartners will enjoy a 45 minute interactive music class led by Mrs Bram, the current Kindergarten music teacher at the Mitchell School.

Time: 2 sessions - 11am or 12:30pm
Location: Mitchell at the Middle
Who’s Invited: Kindergartner and their parent/guardian.
Can Siblings come? This event is not suitable for siblings.
What Should I Bring? Nothing extra is needed for this event

 
      LIBRARY DAY
Meet us at the Bridgewater Public Library where students will enjoy story time with a guest reader and be introduced to their soon-to-be classmates. Students will also get to enjoy a craft activity with the help of their parent/guardian and RTK. Students who attend this event will receive a free Kindergarten-readiness book courtesy of Scholastic Books and GMSPA. All children must be accompanied by their parent/guardian. There will be two sessions to ensure ample parking and space. This event has limited attendance and advanced registration is required.

Time: 4:30 & 5:30 (2 sessions)
Location: Bridgewater Public Library
Who’s Invited: Kindergartner and their parent/guardian.
Can Siblings come? Due to space limitations, this event is not suitable for siblings.
What Should I Bring? No need to bring anything extra to this event


       BUS ORIENTATION
Lots of students and even parents have anxiety about riding the bus. This event is designed to address some of those concerns. Rules of riding the bus, policies for drop-off and pick-up, bus safety and bus routes will be presented by Lucini Bus Lines in collaboration with the Mitchell School Principal, Heidi Letendre. The afternoon is capped off with a bus ride.  This year we will have a station for parents/guardians to complete a new CORI form for the School District.  CORI forms must be completed every year if you wish to volunteer at school.

Date: Tuesday, August 20th
Time: 4 to 5pm 
Location: Mitchell at the Middle
Who’s Invited: Kindergartner and their parent/guardian.
Can Siblings come? This event is for incoming Kindergartners only
What Should I Bring? Your license to fill out a CORI if you would like to volunteer in the classroom or any school events during school hours.



     BSU BEARS KINDERGARTEN KICK-OFF
This is the event not to miss! Sponsored by RTK and hosted by the Bridgewater State University Bears Football Team, field day games and activities await your child. Students are grouped according to teacher assignments and spend the morning running a football obstacle course, playing games, jumping in bounce houses, and most importantly, developing relationships with their classmates. The football team members are distinguished student leaders who are happy coordinating games and helping to prepare your child for Kindergarten. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. Please bring water, sunscreen, chairs and shade.  Pre-Registration is required.

     PARENTS' NIGHT OUT
Designed for parents-only, this event provides a great opportunity to meet other parents of incoming kindergartners, hear the experiences of parents who have transitioned through this milestone, and of course allow you the much needed parents night out!

Location: Barrett's Ale House (425 Bedford Street, Bridgewater)
