Raghavendra Bhat, M.Sc. Ph.D.

Raghavendra Bhat has done M.Sc. in Yoga from S-VYASA University, Bangalore. Subsequently completed PhD in December 2012 with a thesis titled “Psychophysiological Effects of Two Meditative States Described in Yoga Texts”under the guidance of Dr. Shirley Telles and Dr. H. R. Nagendra. During his Ph.D., he worked as a Scientist at ICMR Center for Advanced Research in Yoga and Neurophysiology, at S-VYASA, Bangalore. At present he is working as Assistant Professor in the Division of Yoga and Life Sciences, S-VYASA, Bangalore.  He is also the Sub-Editor of International Journal of Yoga (I-JOY). He has 12 research publications on yoga and co-authored a chapter on “Yoga: Physiology and Applications in Therapy and Rehabilitation” in a book ‘Best & Taylor’s Physiological Basis of Medical Practice for Students’ with Dr. Shirley Telles. He has presented a paper on meditation in the third World Congress of Asian Psychiatry, Melbourne, Australia (July, 2011) and in many other National & International conferences. His research interests are meditation and Psychophysiology. He conducts Yoga, Meditation and Stress management workshops. He has conducted many workshops on Research Methodology and Biostatistics. He loves playing chess and adventure sports.
