This was our first week back after a loooooooong break, so we did a contest in class. This was like an extended warm-up to get us ready for the rest of the year.

The contest that we did was called Math Kangaroo and you can find more information about the real thing here. We worked on the problems from the 2003-2004 contest. The problems are really hard, so you should be proud of what you did and keep working on it!

Most of the problems have a pattern that make them easier to solve. I will give you some hints below and save solutions for next week.

You'll notice that the workout is a bit strange (so short!). It's more about the process than the answer, so think about how you would solve this type of question. What if you were counting skateboards or something else?
