January 9th - RBAS Presentation
"Dealing with Nuisance Animals Around the Home and Garden" to be presented at 6:30 pm at the Runge Nature Center.
January 25th - RBAS Field Trip
Trip to the Lake of the Ozarks, Bagnell Dam Area. Meet at the Lottery Parking Lot at 8 am to car pool or follow the group. Bird, then have lunch at the lake area.
February 13th - RBAS Presentation
"Where do Missouri's Birds go in the Winter? And, who is making sure they are OK?" to be presented at 6:30 pm at the Runge Nature Center.
February 15th - RBAS Field Trip
Birding around the Jefferson City Area. Birding location will depend upon where the birds are located. Meet at Runge Nature Center at 8 am.
Note to Field Trip Participants:
Always call the trip leader so you will know about the last-minute changes in plans.On all trips bring appropriate clothing, including rain gear, and wear sturdy boots on hikes.
Binoculars and bird-identification guides are helpful on the birding trip. In warmer weather bring drinking water. Trips will go rain or shine; after all some of the best birding is in "fowl" weather.
Be aware of hunting seasons. Refer to the Missouri Department of Conservation
web page for current hunting seasons and other information.
Avoid wearing these colors during the following hunting seasons:
Turkey season: red, white, blue and black.
Fall firearm deer season: brown and white.
