2016 IDPA Is Under Way
Thanks to all who participate and volunteer to make IDPA at Rivanna happen. 

May BUG/CCD Side Match

For our May match we will also have a BUG and CCP "Shoot What You Carry" side-match on the 25 yard plinking range.

Registration will be $5 and separate from the regular match. Starting at 9:00. Stop by, register and shoot in the order you sign up.

4-5 strings of 5 rounds each. All guns must fit in the CCP box. 8 3/4" x 6" x 1 3/8". Barrel length of 4.10" or less.

You must present either a current IDPA or Rivanna membership card or a VA Concealed Carry permit to register.

IDPA 3rd Saturday of every month Jan through Nov
  • We run a cold range (no loaded firearms) and have a Load/Unload area for your use
  • All firearms must remain holstered unless you are the active stage shooter
  • New Shooter Briefing 8:30 - all first time Rivanna IDPA shooters MUST attend (arrive by 8:00)
  • Registration for Early Squads 8:00-9:00
  • Match Briefing and Early Squads Start 9:00
  • Registration for SO and Late Squad 9:00-11:00
  • Late Squad Starts After Early Squads Finish
  • NOTE: Classifier matches require pre-registration
  • Matches on outdoor Bullseye and APT ranges (Plinking and 300 Yard Range closed also)
  • Severe inclement weather and match moves to Indoor range
  • Match Fee $15 Cash or Check ONLY (payable to RRPC-IDPA)
  • Average Match round count is 50-75
  • IDPA Membership required after first match
Minimum To Bring To A IDPA Match
  • A safe and serviceable pistol or revolver in .38/9mm or larger caliber
  • A strong-side leather or kydex belt holster
  • Three magazines or speed-loaders
  • A concealment garment (coat, vest, shirt that covers gun)
  • 75-100 rounds of ammunition
  • Eye and hearing protection
  • A general knowledge of the rules - IDPA Rules
The Four Safety Rules
  • All guns are always LOADED
  • Don't point the MUZZLE at anything you aren't willing to destroy
  • Keep your FINGER off the trigger until your sights are on the target
  • Be sure of your TARGET and backstop
