Torie Bates
People Operations Associate, K-12 Education Outreach

Torie Bates is a specialist/analyst on the K-12 Education and Outreach team who manages Google student visits and supports the RISE Awards and our Evaluation efforts. Torie graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Psychology and a minor in African and African American Studies. She is originally from the Chicago area and is extremely passionate about youth empowerment and education equality.

Abby Bouchon

K-12 Education Outreach Coordinator

Abby Bouchon is a Coordinator on the K-12 Education Outreach team who leads the Google RISE Nonprofit Manager Program and Google+ RISE Awards Community. Prior to joining the K-12 team, Abby worked on growing STEM Education on Google+. Abby graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill where she studied Biology, Chemistry and Entrepreneurship. An avid beekeeper and runner, Abby currently lives in San Francisco.

Mo Fong
Director, K-12 Pre-University/Education Outreach

Mo-Yun Lei Fong is the Director of Google K-12 Education Outreach. Prior to this role, she was a finance director and Chief Compliance Officer for Google Wallet and worked at PayPal. Her passion is transforming K-12 education and was the Executive Director for the Stanford Educational Leadership Institute -- a joint program between the Stanford GSB and GSE. She has also served as a high school vice principal and taught math and chemistry. Mo holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a BS in ChemE and MA in Education from Stanford University.

Verónica Gebhardt

Verónica Gebhardt is a CS Education Outreach Specialist focusing on EMEA, currently transitioning from the Dublin to the Zurich office. Her focus is on increasing access and exposure to CS Education opportunities and experiences for students by supporting external organizations and Googlers in their CS outreach efforts. Veronica has been at Google for over 7 years, previously as a Community Manager and a Sales representative. Prior to joining Google, Verónica worked at Ogilvy & Mather. Originally from Argentina, she has lived in Ireland and has recently moved to Switzerland. She is a declared chocolate and a pumpkin lover.

Hai Hong
Program Manager, K-12 Education Outreach
Google Mountain View

Hai Hong manages the RISE Awards and research on computer science education for K-12 Education Outreach at Google. Hai joined Google from Roll Global, where he worked on college-readiness programs for farming communities, employee engagement and wellness, and international HR. Prior to this, he served as a consultant for the German Federal Foreign Office and the Fulbright Commission in Berlin. He holds an MS in International Education and a BA in Psychology and German from the University of Southern California. He studied at the University of Vienna in Austria as a Fulbright Grantee.

Marielena Ivory
EMEA Pre-University Program Specialist
Google Zurich

Marielena Ivory is a specialist on the EMEA side of Google’s Global K-12/Pre-Uni team, based in the Zurich office. Her focus is on increasing access and exposure to CS Education opportunities and experiences for students by supporting external organizations as well as other Google offices in their CS outreach efforts. Previously she was on the EMEA University outreach team, and prior to Google she worked for a nonprofit coordinating professional cultural exchanges sponsored by U.S. State department. She is passionate about international affairs and cross-cultural issues, and has an MA in Intercultural Studies from Dublin City University and a BSc in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.

Jason Ravitz
Education Outreach Evaluation Manager
Google Mountain View 

Jason manages evaluation of education outreach at Google, focusing on efforts to increase participation in computer science by underrepresented minorities and women. He previously conducted research on educational technologies and pedagogical reform at the Buck Institute for Education, completed post-doctoral positions at SRI International and UC-Irvine, and worked at BBN Educational Technologies studying pioneering Internet using teachers. He has taught at Syracuse University, UC Irvine, and UC San Francisco, and lectured widely. He holds a Ph.D./M.S. in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation from Syracuse University. 

Roxana Shirkhoda
K-12 Education Outreach Specialist
Google Mountain View

Roxana has been at Google for over 5 years and is currently an Education Outreach Specialist focusing on engaging students and supporting nonprofits in the realm of computer science outreach. Prior to joining Google, Roxana was a Business Analyst at Target.

Outside of Google, Roxana is on the Board of Directors at Full Circle Fund, an active network of professionals who leverage their time, funding, and talent to help nonprofit organizations launch new initiatives. Roxana is originally from Detroit, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan – Go Blue!
