Please remember that all of our Elective offerings are designed to introduce students to the subject, and inspire them to explore new and different areas of interest. We will do our best to get your child at least one of his or her top choices, either first or second semester.  You have until April 15th to submit your selections; please do not feel rushed, as students ARE NOT placed on a first come first served basis.

CAASPP Testing (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress)

We are gearing up for CAASPP Testing, which is the new statewide assessment system replacing STAR.  For your convenience and future planning, we have attached the testing schedule.  You can see that we will be testing in small chunks over several days to help ease test anxiety and fatigue.

If you would like to see what kinds of questions your child will be asked to do, or would like to help them prepare, please take some time to preview the CAASPP Practice Test.  You do not need to enter any login information.

Because these tests are online, we recommend students take some time building their typing skills.  Here is a website that is both fun AND educational:  Free Typing Game

As we move closer to testing, we will send out reminders and more information.  Please feel free to e-mail Gina Burns and or Fayanne Bakoofor questions regarding statewide testing.

We hope that this was valuable information for you and your family!

High School Registration

posted 19 Feb 2015, 07:54 by Jase St Peter

We are fast-approaching the end of your child's 8th grade year, which means high school is right around the corner!

We will begin working with students on their high school registration materials this week.  Team Nile will be the first team to go through class presentations, followed by Spirit and Rio Verde the week of March 2nd.  We have attached an outline with all fo the important information regarding high school registration.  We have also attached the presentation we will be giving students during their class periods to help them complete their registration forms.

Please note, that we do have all students participate in registration for Valencia.  However, we also assist them with registration for other schools that they may be attending, the process for Valencia is similar to all high schools and we can use that information to help your child register for any of the other schools in the district they may be attending.

We hope that this information is valuable to you, and we will continue to update you with information regarding registration, as well as upcoming events at the high school, as we move through the end of the year.

Thank you!

Lisa Steinman, Counselor & Registration Coordinator
