Ringwood went head-to-head in a friendly competition with New Mexico Camera Club in America. Only after we had suggested the idea did we discover they have 350 members - approx. seven times as many as us!!! The final result was very nearly a drew with NM scoring a total of 822 points versus Ringwood's final score of 811 points.
Ringwood Camera Club won the Fordingbridge Challenge Trophy Friendly competition organised by Fordingbridge Camera Club. The other clubs taking part were Salisbury CC and Wimborne CC (joint second), Fordingbridge CC (fourth), Bournemouth PS (fifth) and Parkstone CC (sixth).
Ringwood won the SAPA League final for digital images. 12 clubs started the competition in November 2013 with four clubs making it to the final. We were up against Boscombe CC, Fordingbridge CC and Parkstone CC in the final, beating Boscombe by 2.5 points. Fordingbridge were third.
Ringwood came third in the SAPA All vs All PDI Competition where 12 local camera clubs competed against each other. We were only beaten by two points by Blandford and Fordingbridge
CCs who tied for first place.
Following on from our very successful Star Night with special guest speaker Dr. Matt Doggett, Ringwood Camera Club hosted a Southern Counties Photographic Federation competition with seven camera clubs taking part.
The clubs were from as far away as The Chanel Islands, Bognor Regis, Storrington, Reading and Basingstoke. Each club entered a selection of their best digital images, the judge awarded marks out of 10 for each image and Ringwood came second only losing out to Bognor Regis by one point!!
Ringwood joined Parkstone and Yeovil CCs in accepting Shaftesbury’s Shaston Challenge at their last meeting in January and we came joint first with our hosts, Shaftesbury CC.
