for E-learning for Educators

This portfolio is the final requirement of my work for the first of five classes in the E-Learning and Online Teaching Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. This e-portfolio is a collection of projects completed for this 8 week course.

During the course we kept a weekly reflective journal in which I posted notes on what I was learning and questions or comments I had about the class. We were introduced to a course management system called Moodle and had a chance to experience it both as a student and an instructor. Acting in the instructor mode, we facilitated a discussion forum and created an online assessment. With this experience, I worked with a couple of colleagues at my school and we created a survey and discussion forum to address the lack of digital literacy in our district.

We were also given the chance to work with other technologies online. I created a Personal Search Engine (PSE) using a Google application. This tool enables teachers to create searches with sites that have been chosen by the teacher thus eliminating the frustration and exposure of searching the whole Internet. In addition to the PSE, we used a social bookmarking site called Diigo and formed the E-Learning for Educators group.
