Rickey Gene Wright an Americana singer songwriter who travels down that road between Folk and Country Music with some side road influences from Bluegrass, Blues and Gospel Roots Music.

An Americana/Story-Telling song that takes place in the 1800's in "The Strand" business district of old Galveston Texas. Back in the 1800's the business community of Galveston was populated by German immigrants who became successful merchants and were even responsible for re-naming the bay side of Galveston Island "The Strand". A beautiful red-headed German girl falls on hard times but finds a way to survive as she becomes a legend named "Island Red." Written by Rickey Gene Wright and recorded with the help of friends at Duck Creek Station and BDM-Studio.
