Who are we?
Our job club is a group of individuals who meet on a regular basis to support each other through the job hunting process. The club enables members to expand their network of contacts whilst also acting as a support group. Our job club nurtures self-esteem and optimism which are essential for job seekers. Job clubs can improve people’s chances of finding a job.
Their efforts are strengthened by belonging to a group; rejection is shared, successes celebrated and the search for a job shortened.
Where and when do we meet?
Monday mornings @ Harlequins Twickenham Stoop Stadium, Langhorn Drive, Twickenham, TW2 7SX
10.30 to 12.00 noon - not Public Holidays
You will find us in Boxes 22/23 in the LV Stand. Walk down the right hand side of the main LV Stand and head for the Main Reception. If there is no-one at Reception, walk up the stairs, turn left and walk to the end of the corridor, where you will find Boxes 26/27
What do we do?
We drink coffee/tea; we eat biscuits - all courtesy of Harlequins Rugby – and we talk. We find out about each other’s job searching and we share help and encouragement.
We also have occasional talks and presentations: for instance, CV writing, the Work Programme, the inside workings of the Job Centre+, LinkedIn etc – whatever is relevant to those attending.
Who can attend?
Anyone! You may be looking for full or part time work, a portfolio career, a change of career direction or to start a business. There are no geographical constraints – if you can get to us, we are happy to help. You can be either signing on at JobCentre+, or not. You can be expecting redundancy and wanting to be prepared, or out of work.
How much does it cost?
It is entirely free of charge because we have the support of Harlequins Rugby and a local charity.
