Thank you for your interest in the Richmond Area Counselors Association (RACA)!

In 1950, RACA was one of the first of three local chapters formed by the Virginia Counselors Association.

It is an organization dedicated to meeting the needs of all of the Richmond Area Counselors who work in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.

RACA members in all settings will provide best counseling practices that enhance human development and functioning throughout the life span and promote public confidence in the counseling profession.


RACA strives to be an engaging and active organization that effectively responds to local and statewide counseling issues by providing opportunities for professional training and social/networking events.  We welcome as members counseling students, school counselors, and community counselors from the Richmond Area to join our chapter and the Virginia Counselors Association (VCA)!
