Sara Hofeditz is no stranger to the Richardson High School Law Magnet.  A 2002 Richardson High School graduate, Miss Hofeditz did everything the Law Magnet had to offer – classes, Law Review and Mock Trial, including being on the first state champion team.

Miss Hofeditz studied Political Science and Corporate Communications & Public Affairs with emphasis in Public Policy and Non-Profit at Southern Methodist University.  In the Political Science department, Miss Hofeditz concentrated on American Government & Politics as well as Rights & Representation, using much of the knowledge that she had learned in the RHS Law Magnet!  She was also involved in the Political Science Symposium, providing a forum for non-partisan political activism, as President and President Emeritus.

Still, there was something missing from her academic life – after three years of high school mock trial, in 2004, she co-founded the SMU undergraduate Mock Trial team.  This team proceeded to take the collegiate mock trial world by storm and competed on the nationals level in its inaugural year.  In its second year, as a captain, Miss Hofeditz called upon only the best to coach, Mr. Tony Palagonia.  Miss Hofeditz finished her collegiate mock trial career by organizing the Great Southern Regional Tournament, hosting 30 schools from 8 states in competition at Crowley Criminal Courthouse.

The high school mock trial bug didn’t disappear, however.  In the fall of 2005, she aided in starting the Lake Highlands High School Mock Trial team, a program that had all been lost for 3 years.  With hard work over Christmas break, Miss Hofeditz as coach, led the new team to Regional Finals.

She is so pleased to be returning to her alma mater and is excited to with the new heights reached by this wonderful program including an entirely new curriculum for the Junior Law II and Senior Business and Criminal  courses.  She is also proud of the 2006-2007 mock trial team as they reign as the Texas State High School Mock Trial Champions.  They advance to National Competition this May.

Her family includes her father, Kevin Paul Hofeditz, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University; her mother, Patricia Hofeditz, in the classroom upstairs, teaching Junior and Senior AP English at Richardson High School; her brother, Jordan, a freshman at SMU, and her puppy, Trooper.
