Undated , although I suspect 1970's,

colour transparency from my late brother Larry's collection.

It shows on left Y 107 broad gauge pilot

(operated by a Wodonga Locomotive crew)

and the now former Albury Locomotive Depot .

Note the two-position signals as the line between Albury and Junee

was operated under electric staff safe-working.

It is now controlled centrally from Junee.

Normally X or S class locomotives were used,

with a T class as back up, but on this occasion 2 T's were used.

Flinders Street Station 1972.This historical photo, taken from the National Mutual Building,

shows the Sandridge Rail Bridge when it was carrying both the St Kilda and Port Melbourne broad- gauge lines.

Directly accross the Yarra River is the present site of Southbank.

In the middle foreground is the Melbourne Arts Centre before its spire was built.

On the extreme right is the now-demolished Prince Henry's Hospital.

Since this is a railway page , in the foreground,there is a suburban electric Tait train.

X 38 , with 46 wagons weighing 825 tons,at South Dynon Yard.

This train was delayed 24 hours due to the Jacana derailment.
