I am a consultant with over 8yrs experience in the Financial Services industry as an Innovation professional, generating ideas, managing projects and developing pilots & products for large brands. I have a lot of experience of designing and facilitating creative ideas sessions, helping diverse groups solve key business issues from marketing messages to strategic positioning.

I have a particular interest in helping businesses understand and maximise the opportunities of using Social Media - a subject which I also lecture on at the University of Huddersfield and the University of Nottingham.

Working as an Innovation manager within business I’ve noticed a huge gap between the complexity and breadth of our personal Social Media use compared with the uses business finds for the same tools.

In our own Social Media worlds we maintain an array of channels, feeds and interactions between which we effortlessly move and update whilst maintaining a consistent “brand” voice. Whilst there are companies blazing trails in Social Media, many companies have yet to move beyond pushing content or simply seeing the larger communities as prime marketing real estate – missing the real opportunities for truly social interaction, advocacy and collaborative innovation.

I want to help businesses take a holistic, strategic view of Social Media to make this space less messy and less confusing so that businesses can unlock the real potential of Social Media. By seeing Social Media as a psychology rather than a series of tools, businesses can confidently adapt to the changing world of Social Media and maintain strong customer engagement.
