Ricardo Vieira is a researcher at the Instituto Superior Técnico and of the Information and Decision Support Systems Lab at INESC-ID – Research and Development Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering. He is also a Ph.D. student in Information Systems and Computer Engineering at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Technical University of Lisbon working in the field of Risk Management.

Ricardo Vieira is a member of the DLM Forum Executive Committe where he serves as Vice Chair. He was previously Secretary (June to November 2014) and Director (October 2013 to June 2014). He was a member of INCOSE - The International Council on Systems EngineeringHe contributed to the formal public review of MoReq2010 during the concept consultation (summer 2010) and the MoReq2010 draft consultation (winter 2010/2011).

His mains interests are in the areas of Risk Management, Information Governance, Records Management, Requirements Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture. In special, he is interested in understanding how to integrate multiple Risk Management views such as Information Security, Records Management, Data Research Management, etc. 

Ricardo Vieira holds a M.Sc. in Information Systems and Computer Engineering from IST (2009) where he specialized in software engineering and distributed systems. As part of his M.Sc. program he also spent a full semester at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. 

Ricardo Vieira main activities include:
  1. Coordinate and manage IST resources under the European project E-ARK;
  2. Contribute to the improvement of the INESC-ID Risk Management tool HoliRisk;
  3. Accompanying teacher in several Master Thesis at IST. 
Ricardo Vieira has advanced knowledge on ISO31000, ISO31010, ISO27000 Family of Standards, ISO15489, ISO42010 COSO ERM, COBIT, TOGAF, Archimate, BPMN, MoReq2010, TRAC, CMMI, among others. 

He works or has worked with companies such as SAP, Intel, Fujitsu Services, Link Consulting, Caixa Magica, LNEC – the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering, LIP - The Laboratory of Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics, DGLAB – The Portuguese National Archives, among others. 

Ricardo Vieira taught the "Information and Communication Technologies" course at the Information and Documentation Sciences Department at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa during the 1st semester of 2012/13Previous activities also include research in the European Project SHAMANTIMBUS4C, and benchmarkDP
