About The Company
RibbitRePublic is an independent theatre company from Vancouver, British Columbia that has toured and performed in numerous productions and festivals across North America, including over a dozen Fringe Festivals, Just For Laughs in Montreal, Canoe in Edmonton, The Living Arts Centre in Mississauga and the Vancouver Comedy Festival. We strive to keep challenging ourselves and our audiences by creating and performing an emergent and diverse collection of stories.
For such an independent theatre company, RibbitRePublic has enjoyed much acclaim, including the Critics' Choice Best Male Performance Award (Jon Paterson) at the 2014 Orlando Fringe Festival, the 2011 Sterling Award nominee for Outstanding Fringe New Work (Kenneth Brown) , the 2005 Sterling Award for Outstanding Fringe Production (Pilk’s Madhouse), seven Sterling Award nominations (for BoyGroove, Pilk’s Madhouse and Bouncers), over a dozen Best-of-Fest honours, the 2005 Just For Laughs Award (BoyGroove), and The Centaur Theatre Award for Outstanding Production at the Montreal Fringe (BoyGroove). Ribbit has appeared in Oprah Magazine and on MTV and has been featured in The National Post, Toronto Star, Star TV, and CBC Radio.
Most RibbitRePublic productions are co-produced with Kenneth Brown's Theatrepublic Theatre Society.

Originally, RibbitRePublic was assembled by six former college classmates interested in introducing theatre to a younger generation; exciting theatre that makes no apologies. Together, with the directorial help of their acting teacher Kenneth Brown the company has performed and has produced shows for the last fourteen years, in close to a dozen cities across North America. The alumnus has grown to over thirty performers from all over Canada and the UK.
