Rezoan is currently leading the efforts for solving prediction, forecasting and data quality problems using AI/ML at SoftBank (SB energy). He supports Asset Management, Operations and solar project engineering team with node/hub LMP price forecasting, DAM-RTM (DART) trading strategies, PTP trading strategies, Optimization, energy forecasting, preventive maintenance, anomaly/fault detection solutions. He is also responsible for vendor AI/ML POC's and the broader digital platform technology stack and architecture.


Previously, he was responsible for the development, validation, and continuous improvement of energy prediction models at First Solar.


Rezoan have 10+ years of data science and analytics experience (6+ yrs in the industry & 4+ yrs in academia (Ph.D.)). He worked on various science and engineering roles in renewables, energy, wireless, internet software domain where he used data to solve business problems.

process efficiency by 98% in time.


  • Validated spectral response parametric model using field data using python, jmp, SQL server, matplotlib.

Model under-performs and over-performs by 0.6% and 1.1% in dry weather and humid weather respectively.

I worked with Professor Majeed M. Hayat as a PhD student at the university of New Mexico and Marquette University on Probabilistic modeling of cascading failures in power systems. Research included Markov-Chain based Model of a coupled power grid network including data integrity and the role of human operators on the reliability of Power Grid. . During my time as a graduate student I worked in two research projects funded by DTRA (Defense threat reduction agency) under DoD (Department of defense) titled "Probabilistic characterization of precursors to WMD-induced cascading failures in the electric-cyber infrastructure: An integrated physical-network and human-factor approach; DTRA Award Number: HDTRA1-13-1-0020" and NSF (national science foundation) titled "Revolution through Evolution: A Controls Approach to Improve How Society Interacts with Electricity; NSF(CRISP Type 2) award Number: 1541148"

I Was responsible for Radio planning and Optimization of Dhaka zone containing sites with GSM and UMTS technology. My Initiatives in 5 years resulted in voice and data performance improvement by 33%, and 42% (2G), 80% (3G). I was promoted twice (from system engineer to senior engineer in October, 2012 and to Lead Engineer in July, 2014) in 5 years based on merit. I participated and led numerous projects in this role.

  • Reduce 3G/2G toggling by 55% for PS service and 22% in CS service.

3G Pre-launch Planning:

Identified the Drivers for 3G planning from Forecast and Generated Coverage Predication based on those drivers.

3G Inter-Operability Test (IOT):

Responsible for 3G IOT from RAN Part. In collaboration with Huawei and GP Operation teams, more than 35 Tests were accomplished within only 5 days next to first 3G installation date in GrameenPhone History. Most of the Tests were performed in Test Bed. Some of the Key Tests are –

- Voice and Video Calling

- Different Speeds of HSPA service (3.6, 14, 21 Mbps HSDPA, 5.76 Mbps HSUPA)

- Different Handover Scenarios (Soft, Inter-RAT, Intra-Frequency, Inter-Frequency etc.)

3G Planning & Optimization SPOC for Dhaka Region(during 3G rollout project): Responsible for ensuring all 3G related activities of 1000+ sites of Dhaka zone including UMTS Planning, Node-B Planning, Post-Optimization (both hard & soft), CAC and FAC.
