Game 2 - Kings 3, Canadiens 2, OT
A hush fell over the Inglewood Forum crowd as Butch Goring went to the locker room early in the 3rd to treat an injury. Mike Murphy cashed in on the power play to give LA the lead. However, the Habs would tie it halfway through the 3rd while shorthanded on a Pete Mahovlich goal. They would play almost a full period of overtime. After each team registers 15 shots in the extra session, Juha Widing connects with 39 seconds left on the clock to give the Kings a 2-0 series lead.
