This week, we travel to Nassau Coliseum for our Game of the Week. Derek Sanderson scores twice and Billy Smith stops all 21 shots as the Islanders (11-2-1) shut out the Rangers (3-11-1), 4-0.

GAME STORY

On their home ice the Islanders had no difficulty defeating the Rangers

by the final tally of 4 to 0. New York was unable to get their power

play going and finished 0 for 5 with the extra man. The game's initial

goal was sufficient as JEAN POTVIN scored 4:29 of the 1st period. DEREK

SANDERSON had two goals and contributed one assist for New York. BILLY

SMITH was sharp in goal. He was flawless in the shutout while facing

21 shots. A goal was also registered by GERRY HART for New York.
