Danny Gare scored four goals as the Sabres pounded the Islanders 7-2 at The Aud. Craig Ramsey had three assists for Buffalo (23-13-5). Jean-Paul Parise and Rick Hampton were the goal scorers for the Isles (24-14-9).

GAME STORY
In their home arena the Sabres pounded the Islanders by a final score
of 7 to 2. The Sabres took advantage of their opportunities with 3 power
play goals. Buffalo poured on the pressure outshooting the Islanders
38 to 23. Buffalo finished with a flurry scoring 4 times in the third
period. DANNY GARE was spectacular, scoring 4 goals on 12 shots for
Buffalo. And CRAIG RAMSAY had three assists. Others registering goals
were JEAN-PAUL PARISE and RICK HAMPTON for New York and GARY McADAM, MIKE
FIDLER and JERRY KORAB for Buffalo.
In other RHL news:
Cliff Koroll notched a hat trick in Chicago's 8-4 win over the Rangers.
Jacques Lemaire scored three goals and an assist, but the Canadiens could only muster a 5-5 tie with the North Stars.
Darryl Sittler registered 2 goals and three assists in the Maple Leafs' 7-2 whitewash of the Canucks.
The Blackhawks made two deals, trading Willi Plett to the Maple Leafs for Tom Lysiak and sending Wayne Merrick to the Islanders for Dave Lewis.
