Ken Dryden stopped 54 of 55 shots in Montreal's 2-1 victory over Buffalo at The Aud. Guy Lapointe scored the game-winning goal for the Habs (35-13-8). Rick Martin had the only goal for the Sabres (32-22-6).

GAME STORY
The visiting team from Montreal squeezed out a victory over the Sabres
by the final score of 2 to 1. GUY LAPOINTE scored the game's final goal
at 10:28 of the 3rd period. KEN DRYDEN was outstanding in goal. He made
just one mistake while facing an unrelenting barrage of 55 shots. DRYDEN
stopped many good scoring chances, which made his performance that much
more impressive. Others who scored were YVAN COURNOYER for Montreal and
RICK MARTIN for Buffalo.
In other RHL action:
Dennis Ververgaert scored a hat trick and added an assist in the Canucks' 5-2 win over the North Stars.
Pierre Larouche had 2 goals and an assist in the Penguins' 6-4 victory over the Maple Leafs.
