Dryden blanks the Isles

In what may be a preview of the Yelnats Cup Final, Ken Dryden stopped all 35 shots (8 ratings) as the Canadiens (32-12-7) blank the Islanders (37-11-8) 3-0 at the Nassau Coliseum. Steve Shutt scored twice for the Habs.

GAME STORY
The visiting team from Montreal had no difficulty defeating the Islanders
by the final tally of 3 to 0. The game's initial goal was sufficient
as STEVE SHUTT lit the lamp 18:07 of the 1st period. SHUTT found the
net twice on 6 shots for Montreal. KEN DRYDEN was outstanding in goal.
He recorded the shutout while facing 35 shots. A goal was also registered
