After going six consecutive home games without a goal, Marcel Dionne responded in a huge way, getting a hat trick in the Kings' 5-2 win over the Nordiques at the Inglewood Forum. Dionne's third goal was the 400th in his RHL career. He becomes the first player in the RHL to reach this milestone. You can watch this historic moment at https://youtu.be/jBqG8-X8Nug.
Mario Lessard made 33 saves for Los Angeles (29-16-7). Jacques Richard and Alain Cote scored for Quebec (24-17-9).

GAME STORY
In front of a cheering crowd the Kings had an easy win over the Nordiques
by a score of 5 to 2. This was a bit of a rough and tumble matchup, as
the battlers combined for 34 penalty minutes. MARCEL DIONNE came up
big, scoring a hat-trick on 6 shots for Los Angeles. MARIO LESSARD was
sharp in goal. He allowed 2 goals while facing 35 shots. Others who scored
were JACQUES RICHARD and ALAIN COTE for Quebec and TERRY MARTIN and GEORGE
LYLE for Los Angeles.

The Islanders made a move to bolster their defense for the stretch run, sending Mike Crombeen to the Whalers for Al Sims.
