Helping Churches to Survive and Thrive

in the Coming Religious Realignment

The Church is moving toward a religious realignment of epic proportions and seismic significance. Paradigms that have guided the Church for centuries are crumbling, plunging the Church into uncertainty and chaos, and rapidly rendering irrelevant the dichotomy between the conservative and liberal theological visions that have defined the Church for the last 500 years.

A new paradigm – a new way of being Church – will rise in wake of the old. Like a wave moving toward the shore, it is only beginning to be formed. We do not know exactly when the wave will break or precisely what it will look like when it does. We do know that neither fighting against the wave nor ignoring it will not stop it from breaking.  But we can position ourselves to ride it.

Those who would lead the Church in challenging times must answer three basic questions:
  • Where are we now?
  • How did we get here?
  • Where do we go from here?
If you and your congregation or organization are seeking answers to these questions, and would like to explore a vision for a way of being church that transcends the old polarities between liberal and conservative, maybe I can be of help.
