UpCycled Products- Fabric MakerSpace

WHAT ARE UPCYCLED PRODUCTS?

An upcycled product is something made from re-used materials.  It can be an artistic product or a functional product.

Some great examples made by local residents were submitted in our 1st Annual Appalachian Ohio Reuse Competition in 2014

UPCYCLED PRODUCTS MADE BY ReUSE INDUSTRIES

Based on product research and a customer survey conducted in 2013-2014, ReUse is now starting to make upcycled products with a mix of staff, volunteers and employment trainees.

FABRIC MAKERSPACE

We are focusing primarily on upcycled products made from discarded clothing and other fabrics.

The average American discards over 70 pounds of clothing annually and 85% of this material goes into our landfills.

Our goal is to re-use this material locally by making and selling products to provide employment training and create local jobs.

We are now converting the upstairs of our main barn building at our Albany location into a MakerSpace in order to create and sell products from discarded fabrics and provide materials to local artists and craftspeople.

VOLUNTEER

Our upcycled product program is just getting started.  There are plenty of ways volunteers can help out, including material sorting, production, training and retail sales.

Presently, we are working on products every Thursday, 12-5, at our Albany location - 74815 U.S. 50, Albany, OH 45710 (located between Albany and McArthur).  Please click HERE to complete a brief volunteer interest form so we can keep you informed.
