What do your donations support?

We are dedicated to generating local economic development and reducing our community's carbon footprint by diverting waste from our landfills.

Since 1994, ReUse turned over 12 million pounds of discarded materials into over $5 million in local economic impact while providing 40,000 hours of job training and engaging over 20,000 hours of volunteer time from area residents.

By diverting this much waste from our local landfills, we:
-Reduced greenhouse gas emissions by at least 32,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, equal to removing over 7,000 cars from the road for a year
-Produced energy savings of over 580,000 million Btu, equal to the annual energy consumption of over 5,000 households, over 100,000 barrels of oil, or over 4.6 million gallons of gasoline.

These are just some of the ReUse initiatives that your donations support:
-Our Community Tool Lending Library opened in October, 2015, providing library members with access to over 500 tools for do-it-yourself makers and fixers.
-Our FixerSpace provides skills training, hands-on learning and jobs to area residents including OU students through diagnosis and repair of computers, electronics, appliances and mechanical items.
-We offer free Community Fix-It Workshops led by volunteers to help area residents repair items instead of throwing them away.
-We make Upcycled Products from re-used materials to provide employment, skills training, and fun volunteer opportunities for area residents including OU students.
-Our 3rd annual Appalachian Ohio ReUse Competition will be announced in January, 2016 and conclude on or near Earth Day in April, 2016. Over $3,000 in cash prizes will be awarded for the best artistic and functional products made from re-used materials.
