Australian-born conductor Reuben Blundell is in his second year as a DMA student of Professor Neil Varon.  Prior to attending Eastman, he was a violin fellow at the New World Symphony, and attended two summers at the Tanglewood Music Center.  While in Miami he directed the Young Musician’s Orchestra and was guided in his conducting by Michael Tilson Thomas.
Before moving to Miami in 2003, he performed as a substitute violinist with most of Australia’s professional orchestras, and was a soloist in the Melbourne Symphony's Young Artist program.  He conducted the Melbourne, Sydney and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras through the Symphony Australia program, with Jorma Panula.
Reuben also studies violin with Professor Zvi Zeitlin.
