Speakers:
David Chard, dean of SMU Simmons School of Education & Development. Former Peace Corps volunteer in Lesotho. Recently appointed by President Obama to the National Board of Education. He has been working with the Global Partnership for Education.
Lisa Marchal is the Senior Global Grassroots Associate and has been on the RESULTS/REF staff since March 2008. She interned as a Global Grassroots organizer from July 2007 to March 2008. She was ordained as an elder in The United Methodist Church in 2004 and has served local churches in Indiana, Ohio and London in various capacities since 1994. She earned her BA in speech communication from Indiana University in 1996 and her MDiv. from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio in 1999. She has also done graduate-level studies in human rights at the Institute of Common wealth Studies, University of London.
Colin Smith In his role as Deputy Director of Communications, Colin Smith manages a broad communications and media strategy for RESULTS and RESULTS Educational Fund, including supporting grassroots volunteers in their media work. Colin came to RESULTS from Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, where he managed media relations and a variety of writing and executive visibility initiatives. Before joining Friends, he worked for the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), a human rights advocacy organization. Colin previously lived and worked in Central America. He hails from Minnesota and graduated with a degree in English from Boston College.
