Common Acronyms

  • BE:  Bilingual Education
  • ELL:  English Language Learners
  • ENL:  English as a New Language
  • ESL:  English as a Second Language
  • LEP:  Limited English Proficiency

NOTE: ENL and ESL programs mostly speak English; bilingual programs (BE) mostly speak in the students' native tongue.
