WHEN SHOULD I TAKE THE PRAXIS II TESTS?

In some cases, it may be a good idea for candidates to register for a test in the summer before they student teach.  In other cases, it may be best to wait until candidates have completed most or all of their required coursework.  Candidates should discuss their testing options with their education advisor.

Remember, in order to be recommended for licensure, candidates must be able to demonstrate passing scores on both required tests, the PLT (pedagogy test) and the content knowledge test.   Candidates should register for the test at a time that allows Simpson to receive their scores by the time candidates apply for a teaching license.
