Welcome to my web page. I am currently a EVL student, and PhD candidate in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My area of study is Cloud Computing, specifically creating workflows and characterizing a general class of NP hard algorithms to map to a cloud based ontology.  Besides being a computer geek, I enjoy cooking, yoga, being with family and friends and being a husband to my lovely wife Kheko.

Current work

Finished research in Brazil submitted a Poster to SC13 "Using large scale clustering to
detect potential fire regions".

Writing a presentation to give for the workshop in Scotland (June 14 - 22th). I will be in Brazil to do research from Jun 24 to August 5th. Also passed qualifiers, I am now a PhD candidate.

Was accepted to the Open Source Data Cloud (OSDC)  PIRE program.

I finished a presentation based on the paper: Survey and Critique of large scale distributed systems.

I have finished Survey and Critique of large scale distributed systems. This paper compares and analyzes Cloud and Grid systems and their components. I am using the following papers for my topic my abstract is listed here.

MapReduce: Simplified data processing on large clusters. [Dean et al. 2000]
