Tom was born in 1990 in Houston, Texas. He then moved all over Asia until the age of 6 when he settled in California. Tom received his B.S. in chemistry from the University of California, Irvine. While at UCI Tom worked under Dave Van Vranken. While in the Van Vranken lab, Tom studied Benzylic Couplings with N-Tosylhydrzones to provide a funtional handle of Reseratrol and its derivatives. In the Fall of 2012, Tom joined the Krische lab where he is developing new methodologies and learning about the mechanism they go by.
