DR. MATTHIAS BENDER                                                  send email

Matthias Bender was born and raised in Osnabrück, Germany. He studied chemistry at the Carl-von-Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg and spent a semester abroad as a visiting researcher at the Uppsala University, Sweden. In 2015 he obtained his PhD at the Universität Oldenburg under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jens Christoffers. His research focused on the structural identification of sterane-biomarkers by synthesis of GCMS-standards. In spring 2016 Matthias joined the Krische group at the University of Texas at Austin, where he currently is developing ruthenium-catalyzed reactions.
