My name is Balaji Mohan, and I am a Research Scientist with the Transport Technologies Division of the Research and Development Center, Saudi Aramco. Before joining Saudi Aramco in January 2020, I worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Clean Combustion Research center (CCRC), King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). I completed my Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS), under the supervision of Associate Professor Wenming Yang and Professor Siaw Kiang Chou.

In January 2011, I joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore as a Ph.D. student. I worked on modeling of spray and combustion process inside the internal combustion engines. My research focused on designing and developing a High-pressure constant volume spray chamber to visualize the spray development process under ambient conditions that prevail during the injection process inside the combustion chamber and model the physical process to capture the fundamentals of the atomization process. I graduated in March 2015.

I worked on Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) improvements with Associate Professor Chua Kian Jon Ernest for my first post-doctoral assignment. The project's primary focus was to abate Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in indoor air and reduce energy consumption by utilizing less outdoor air.

As a post-doctoral fellow at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), I worked on Spray characterization through experiments and numerical simulations. I worked for Professor William L. Roberts and Professor Hong G. Im.
