Mrs. Renteria grew up in Lufkin, TX and graduated with Honors from Lufkin High School in 2002. During high school, she was active in swimming and theater, contributed to the school newspaper, and was an officer for the LHS Art Club. She was also a 2001 National Merit Commended Scholar.
Mrs. Renteria attended Angelina College and the University of Texas at Tyler before
earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2010. She also studied Computer Science, Chemistry and Education extensively during her time in college. Prior to becoming a teacher, Mrs. Renteria held several jobs. She has worked for Lufkin High School as a teacher’s aide, and also worked for the American Red Cross as a lifeguard instructor and water safety instructor. While attending SFA, Mrs. Renteria worked at the AARC as a math tutor and supplemental instructor.
Mrs. Renteria moved to the Houston area in 2010 and taught Algebra II, Precalculus and Calculus at Clements High School and Elkins High School. In 2011, she married her husband Jimmy, and in 2012 they were joined by their beautiful baby girl, Evelynn Grace. Mrs. Renteria transfered to Morton Ranch High School in 2013 where she now teaches AP Calculus AB and BC. In her free time, Mrs. Renteria enjoys listening to music, cooking, swimming, being outdoors and spending time with her family.
