Fall 2016 East Georgia State College Student Evaluations Section SA (World in Revolution)
"The course re-opened my childhood love for books and learning about things people don't normally speak about (oppression, spirituality, ethics). Dr. Denton provided good feedback that made me work harder. The course will help me in life because it broadened my communication skills and taught me to present my ideas and to think critically. Her class discussions worked really well in making everyone think critically."
"The course was fairly organized. I liked her use of PowerPoints in her lectures. The use of Digital Yoknapatawpha was fun. She is a good listener."

"Although we had a lot of online discussions, I found them helpful because I had to voice my opinion on the subject and I got to see how everyone else viewed the topic. I also liked how Dr. Denton was interactive with every student and acknowledged everyone's opinion."
"The feedback that she usually gives helped me so much with my writing skills. I love to write and her input inspires me to become a better writer."
"The course encouraged plenty of open thought and challenged my ideas about what's going on in the world. I feel more socially aware and knowledgeable that I am now better able to formulate an educated opinion. Her detailed notes on my completed work was the most useful."
"Dr. Denton goes over and beyond when teaching class. She teaches in new and unique ways. She shows images and examples currently happening in real life and connects it to the stories we read. She gives examples and allows for students to ask questions about anything they don't understand. She is intuitive and knows when her students struggle to understand. She taught me to think critically as well as not just believe but question what I believe so that I can speak on it when someone questions me."
"What I like best about Dr. Denton is that I have had her three times and each time she has provided the class with a schedule that provides us with what we will be working on in class, what is due, and when it is due. Also, she opened my mind to new ideas and made me a better writing."

"Dr. Denton worked accordingly to the syllabus and also provided us with the materials we needed to succeed in this course. I loved the way she is passionate and knowledgeable about the materials she is instructing on. She also cared that her students learned and ask us for any suggestions to help us better understand the material if we didn't understand it at the time."

"After taking this class with the awesome teacher, I will never look at a piece of literature the same. I will always think of the way she taught us to think about what it is the author is trying to say. I will just always be driven to dig deeper."
"VERY ENCOURAGING and supportive of my writing and who I am as a person. She gave me tips to improve my writing and always reassured me that I can do whatever I want."

"This course has prepared me for my next two years of college. I know what to expect, and I know that essays will not always be short. I am now prepared to take on whatever assignments that my future teachers assign. This professor has impacted my life in such a positive way. She has prepared me for any future literature/writing class that I will be taking."
"When Dr. Denton clarifies the materials, it makes it easier for us to relate to the lesson. Once she talks to one student, others engage in the discussion. [Her best classroom technique] is engaging all of the students in the class discussion."
"Professor Denton motivated me to do my best. Her advice helped me to not give up this semester."
