I received the Electronics Engineer degree in 2002 from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), Brazil, and the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Communications and Integrated Systems  from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. From 2008 to 2009 I was a Research Associate with the Institute for Digital Communications (IDCOM), the University of Edinburgh, and from 2009 to 2011 I was a Research Fellow with the School of Electronics and Computer Science, the University of Southampton. Currently, I am a group leader with the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute and a lecturer at the Technical University of Berlin.

My current interests are in distributed digital signal processing, convex analysis, machine learning, wireless communications, and multiagent systems.
