Biography

 I received the Electronics Engineer degree in 2002 from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), Brazil, and the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Communications and Integrated Systems  from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. From 2008 to 2009 I was a Research Associate with the Institute for Digital Communications (IDCOM), the University of Edinburgh, and from 2009 to 2011 I was a Research Fellow with the School of Electronics and Computer Science, the University of Southampton. Currently, I am a Research Fellow with the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute and a lecturer at the Technical University of Berlin.

My industry experience includes an internship at Avibras Indústria Aeroespacial, Brazil, and a short stay at ChipIdea Microelectrónica (acquired by MIPS Technologies), Portugal.

My current interests are in distributed digital signal processing, convex analysis, machine learning, wireless communications, and multiagent systems.
