Here are a couple of music projects that I've done. I just thought I'd put them out there in-case anyone else would like to use them. It would tickle me to no end to know if anyone else out there used my music; So I would absolutely love it if you'd leave me a comment to let me know that you used it, and whether you liked it or not. There might be only one or two for now, but I'll add more later.
I Know That My Redeemer Lives (set to the tune of A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief) is a new take on the beloved hymn. Verse two and part of four have the devout sincerity that we are used to hearing in this hymn, but verses 1, 3 and 4 have upbeat, rejoicing feels to them.
New for Christmas is Infant Holy, Infant Lowly for SSA. It's always been one of my favorite Christmas songs. I hope I've done it justice.
My version of As Sisters in Zion was arranged because our RS wanted an arrangement where we could start with one voice, and gradually add more.
Foolishness is a silly little piano duet that I wrote for my daughter or my husband to play with me. Instead of one person playing high, and one person playing low, I've got the main person playing seated in the middle of the piano, with the other person playing a simple part that forces them to dart back and forth from low to high and back again over and over behind the seated player. In order for the bass part to sound continuous, the seated person plays quite a lot of it, and it will take a little bit of practice at catching the darting person's bass notes with the pedal and holding it for them while they are flitting back up to play the high parts. It should be fun to perform!
My newest arrangement is A Key Was Turned in Latter Days. This is a duet I made fora Relief Society function. It combines the melodies of Jesus the Very Thought of Thee with As I Have Loved You, but using mainly the lyrics from A Key Was Turned. This could very easily be adapted using the original lyrics for Jesus the Very Thought of Thee, you'd just need to repeat a verse to include all four verses of this hymn.
