  • Altar Server Training
    One of our high school student helpers has spoken to the each eligible grade about her experience as an altar server. Many students have indicated their interest in learning more. To that end a parent letter and sign up form was sent home on 11/29. On December 6 from 7:30 to 8 pm interested students will attend a training on Altar Server responsibilities presented by Father Miller. We look forward to welcoming these new students to the ranks of Altar Servers.

    To assist students, altar server responsibilities document has been created. Please don't think your student must remember all the detail...this document is intended as a guide and new students will be mentored by experienced students.

  • November Update
    Thank you for the wonderfully generous donations for the Shoebox Mission. We successfully filled many shoe boxes and they were delivered for shipment.

    On November 1, there is Mass for All Saints' Day. Students should sit with their parents for mass. If your student is helping at Mass please have them check in with his/her teacher. We will not meet in the classrooms or at the social hall on 11/1. 

    Please make note that there will be no Religious Education classes at St. Patrick the week of Thanksgiving.

  • Shoe Box Mission (Papal Footprints)
    In conjunction with our CCW, Religious Education Classes will be putting together Shoe Boxes filled with Christmas gifts for the Papal Footprints/Shoe Box Mission that is part of ACCW  Appalachia Christmas Project. This project delivers Christmas gifts to the poor at two sister parishes in Appalachia; Queen of All Saints and Saint Francis of Assisi. An online article discusses the project, Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (ACCW): Appalachia Christmas Gift Program.  While the  Papal Footprints/Shoe Box Mission is only a small part of what the ACCW is accomplishing, we are glad we can take part.

    Age group for boxes: Each class is focusing on gifts for kids their same age. So for my 5th grade class, students are looking to purchase gifts for kids 10 to 11 years of age. Max age for boxes is 14. Our goal is to fill 2 shoe boxes per classroom. In my class we talked about filling one box for a girl and one for a boy. 

    What to put in boxes: Kids can bring what they think other kids would like but ultimately we want at least one gift per box from each of these categories: FUN, WARM, EDUCATIONAL, and RELIGIOUS. The brochure your child(ren) brought home or will be bringing home discusses the project and gives DOs and DON'Ts of what can go in a box.   

    Teachers will be discussing this mission again this week, Wednesday, 10/11. Finding your donation(s) might be a nice activity to do with your child(ren) over the MEA break.

    When to bring purchases: Wednesday, 10/25 (any late donations will go to another cause)

    Fill boxes for pick up: Wednesday, 10/25, during class

    All the boxes will be delivered to the farm on Thursday, 10/26.

Please take advantage of our NEW online registration. Payments can be mailed in OR we will collect them on Orientation Night (September 20 for Confirmation students and September 27 for students in Grades 1 through 8).

Please note: 
The Parish Council has reinstated fees for the Religious Education Program starting this year. Please refer to the fee schedule for more details. 

Registrations of non-parish students will be accepted 1) after students from St. Catherine and St. Patrick are processed, 2) if there is space and 3) on a first come, first service basis (determination made in September). If you are a non-parish member, please fill out the online registration (which automatically saves date and time of registration) and the Director of Religious Education will be in contact about availability.
