Referee Incentives

The Regina Soccer Referees’ Association (RSRA) and the Regina Soccer Association (RSA) are encouraging people to take up the role of a soccer referee.  The role of a soccer referee is a great way to learn more about the game of soccer, get some exercise, and develop life skills that will be beneficial throughout ones personal and professional life.  It’s also a great part time job.

If you would like more information on becoming a soccer referee, you can contact the RSA at or the RSRA as shown below.

To assist new referees, both the RSA and the RSRA have programs in place to provide financial incentives to assist with the financial aspects involved with becoming a soccer referee.  These incentives are meant to assist with some of the initial start-up costs such as uniforms and equipment.

These programs are shown below.  Please note that it is up to the individual referee to initiate requests for reimbursement under the programs!

REGINA SOCCER REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION (RSRA)

New referees are reimbursed 50% of their certification clinic fees after completing 15 games.  Completion of the games can be in the role of an Assistant Referee, or as the main Referee.

REGINA SOCCER ASSOCIATION (RSA)

Referees who have completed their 15 games with the RSRA are eligible to receive a $75 clinic registration fee rebate and an additional $50 towards the cost of their referee uniform and equipment.

Completion of the games can be in the role of an Assistant Referee, or the main Referee.  Requests for reimbursement must be completed within 12 months from the referee certification being obtained.

How to Request Your Financial Incentive

Upon completion of the specified number of games, contact the Regina Soccer Referees’ Association treasurer for reimbursement.  The association treasurer can be reached via e-mail at treasurer@rsra.ca

Requests for reimbursement should be completed within 12 months from the referee certification being obtained.

Remember, it is up to the individual referee to initiate requests for reimbursement under these programs!
