COVID-19 Updates: The following changes are instituted as of March 16, 2020, due to school closures.
- Students will be held harmless on grades and citizenship. Students who do not attempt, or who underperform on, any task or assessment will not be see a grade or citizenship lowered.
- Students who engage in academic dishonesty could see their grade and citizenship frozen for the remainder of the year.
- Grade percentages will not round up to the nearest whole percent at end of semester.
- Lowest quiz score will not be dropped at the end of second semester.
- Work completed during the March 16 through April 24 period will be counted as credit and extra credit.
- Assessments taken during the March 16 through April 24 period will round up to 100% if students achieve 70% or better.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Calculus AB is a college-level course offered primarily to students who have met the standards of Precalculus or Advanced Integrated Math III with teacher recommendation. This year course meets the requirements for Advanced Placement and is equivalent to one semester of college calculus. The foundation of this course focuses on three big ideas:
- Change,
- Limits, and
- Analysis of Functions
The standards for Calculus AB are established by the College Board (Curriculum Framework 2019). Embedded throughout the course will be the Mathematical Practices for AP Calculus. Applications related to geometric solids and physics will be studied.

Elements of this class are "flipped" - that is, some of the learning takes place at home and tasks normally done at home are instead given in class. Lessons can be accessed online. If internet is not accessible, please notify me as soon as possible so that an alternative can be arranged.
