Explorer Project

Students were required to complete a research project on an assigned explorer. They were given four class days to research their explorers and three class days to complete a presentation on their research. Students were given a wide variety of choices in the medium of their presentation. Some of the common media used were interviews with the student acting as the explorer, slideshows using Google Presenter, and Fakebook, in which the students created a fake Facebook profile for their explorer using classtools.net. (In the interviews, the students came up with both the questions and the answers for the interview prior to the presentation.) Below, several materials can be found related to this project, including the rubric, the guided research worksheet and timeline sheet template that students were required to complete, and some example projects that I created about Neil Armstrong to guide students. (The timeline sheets were printed and used to create a timeline on the wall of all of the students' explorers.)
