Bryan Hoy, 11th Year
Head Coach

Coach Hoy took over the reigns as the varsity boys soccer coach at South Portland during the 2007 season, where he has a career record of 70-47-13 and has led the Red Riots to 8 consecutive playoff appearances.  Coach Hoy teaches English at SPHS and also serves as it's assistant boys outdoor track and field coach.  He graduated from Westbrook High School (ME) in 2000 and from the University of Maine in 2005.

Coach Hoy resides in Gorham.

Aweis Abdalla
Junior Varsity Coach

Coach Abdalla has served as the boys junior varsity coach for the past seven season.  He has worked at Reiche Elementary School since 1999 as a language facilitator.  He was born in Somalia and moved to Maine in 1998.

Coach Abdalla resides in South Portland with his wife.  They have nine children.

Josh Viola
First Team Coach

Coach Viola joined the coaching staff in 2011.  He also serves as the first team girls basketball coach and head track coach at Kenenbunk High School.

Coach Viola is a 2006 South Portland HS graduate and earned his degree from The University of New England (ME) in 2010.  He teaches chemistry and physics at Kennebunk HS.

While a student at SPHS coach Viola was a two-year varsity soccer starter.  He also participated in outdoor track for two years, basketball for two years and indoor track for two years.

Coach Viola resides in South Portland.
