LWR School Kits

Redeemer Youth is again going to support Lutheran World Relief by assembling school kits.  Our goal this year is 100 kits and the money to ship them overseas.  Items will not be assigned per grade - this mission is expanding to be congregation wide!

October 2013 Update!!!

Lutheran World Relief School Kits

The LWR School Kit initiative will wrap up this month.  Luther and Alpha Leagues will prepare and pack the kits and POPs will hold a bake sale on Sunday, Oct. 20th to raise the shipping funds requested by LWR to get the kits to their final destination.  The kits put together by our church could possible travel to places as diverse as Nicaragua, the Ukraine, or Syria.  It is truly amazing to think that Redeemer is helping over 100 children receive an education.

Please help with this worthy cause - take your student shopping so that someone else can go back to school properly equipped!
There have been some changes made to the school kit request list!  LWR has added ballpoint pens and changed the bags to drawstring backpacks.  Here is the complete list:
  • Four 70-sheet notebooks of wide- or college-ruled paper approximately 8” X 10½”; no loose-leaf paper
  • One 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other
  • One pencil sharpener
  • One blunt scissors (safety scissors with embedded steel blades work well)
  • Five unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers; secured together with a rubber band
  • Five ballpoint pens (no gel ink); secured together with a rubber band
  • One box of 16 or 24 crayons
  • One 2½” eraser
  • One sturdy drawstring backpack-style cloth bag approximately 14” X 17” with shoulder straps (no standard backpacks)
